Obituary for William Meyer
William David Meyer, 68, of Mapleton, IL passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. He was born December 9, 1948 in Galesburg, IL to Gregory and Gladys Ohnsman Meyer. His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters, Rachel (Bill) Astorino, Miriam (Dave) Lake; grandchildren, Billy Astorino, Savannah Lake; brother, Jim (Rose) Meyer; sister, Rose Mary Schira and many nieces and nephews. William served in the U.S. Army and worked as a computer programmer for 1st Data Programmer Corp. He loved bowling, golf and watching NASCAR. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thomas Legacy Center 1849 Seminary Street, Galesburg, IL 61401. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the MS Society or OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co.
