Obituary for Willard J. Haak
Willard J. Haak, 88, of Peoria died on May 11, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born August 4, 1928 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Willard S. and Susie Dean Haak. He married Mary Ellen Litchfield on September 25, 1955 in Blue River, WI; she survives. He is also survived by two nephews, Dean (Leslie) Ingleman of Tarpon Springs, FL and John (Julie) Ingleman of Lake Shore, MN. Willard enlisted in the Naval ROTC at Iowa State University and graduated in 1950 as an Ensign with his BSAE from the College of Engineering. He was employed as an engineer for Caterpillar, Inc in Research and Development for 37 years retiring in 1993. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Creve Coeur Club, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Fluid Power Society, the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, the Bradley Braves Club and the Chicago Cub Boosters of Central Illinois. Cremation has been accorded. Family services will be held at a later date.
