Obituary for Trevelyn LaHaie
Trevelyn Jean Tarr LaHaie, 88, of Peoria passed away November 29, 2018 at Buehler Home in Peoria. She was born January 1, 1930 in Waupaca, WI to Myron and Lucinda Tarr. She married Paul Danial LaHaie on September 1st, 1949 in Elkhart, IN. They soon left for Japan as he was part of the US Occupation and Reconstruction efforts at that time. Paul passed away June 26, 2011.

Surviving are five children; Jeffrey (Mary) of West Lafayette, IN, Steven (Carol) Cypress, TX, Brian, Watkinsville, GA, Susan (Deb) in Spring Hill, FL, and Dan (Karrie) E. Peoria, IL. She said many times, I raised my children to be independent and gave them wings to fly!! Also surviving are a sister, Donna Blau of Milwaukee, WI and brother Jim Tarr (Jane) of Appleton, WI. Trevelyn leaves seven grandchildren and five-great grandchildren.

Trev was an avid bridge player competing in tournaments around the country. She volunteered for Multiple Sclerosis Society for several years, but most of all she loved being around her kids and grandchildren. Up until a couple of years ago, you could find her most Fridays at the Knights of Columbus Fish Fry.

She raised their five children in different parts of the country as Paul was transferred and deployed during his twenty-year time in the Army. They spent time in Ft Knox, KY, Ft Jackson, SC, multiple residences in Waupaca and eventually in Peoria, IL in 1963.

The family would like to thank all of Trev's caregivers at Buehler Home for the excellent care she received while living there for over two years.

Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Contributions in her honor can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Burial of the ashes will take place at a later time in Wisconsin with the family.
