Obituary for Sharon Deweese
Sharon Diane Deweese, 76, of Delavan passed away on November 9, 2019 at her residence. She was born Sharon Diane Dailey to Myrtle and Charles Dailey of Hopedale on September 10, 1943. She attended Stanford High School and married Gary Dean Deweese on February 4, 1961. She lived a full life surrounded by friends and family. She worked most of her adult life at the Eureka Vacuum Cleaning company in Normal, IL before retiring in the mid-1990s. She is often described by those who love her as the one who will “tell you as it is”. Her sense of humor was what would appeal to those she would encounter and kept many relationships alive. She had an ability to brighten any situation by reminding others of humor. She was a survivor above all. Through many difficult life situations from being widowed in 2013 to her serious health complications, she always managed to overcome. On her final day she reminded those who loved her “I’m going to live through this”. Fate and God had other plans for her that day. Sharon could often be caught fishing early in the morning or crafting in her home with her furry friend Charlie. Her fondest memories were family vacations in Minocqua, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary and her daughter, Lyann. She is survived by her son, Gary Jr. and her 2 daughters, Landa and Cindy as well as many grandchildren. Cremation has been accorded and there will be a combined memorial service for friends and family at a later date. Charitable contributions in her memory can be directed to: Beacon of Hope Hospice C\O Sharon Deweese 102 East Main St., Galesburg, IL 61401.
