Obituary for Ronald "Ronnie" L. Hamm Jr.
Ronald “Ronnie” L. Hamm Jr, 53, of Kickapoo, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Ronnie was born on January 5th, 1968. He was the son of Ronald Sr. and Rosemary Hamm. He married Cheryl Hamm on October 18th, 1986 in Peoria. Ronnie is survived by his parents Ronald Sr. and Rosemary Hamm of Peoria; children, Jena (Andy) Slotter of Peoria, Jered (Cassidy Ioerger) Hamm of Kickapoo, Alyssa Hamm of Kickapoo, Tara (Sameed Osman) Hamm of Peoria; 3 grandchildren, Mazie, Addison and Brady Slotter; brother Thomas (Jennifer) Hamm; sister Heather (Paul) Brussow.
Ronnie was a graduate of Brimfield High School. He graduated from Bradley University with a degree in communications. He was a retired laborer with Local 165. He was a member of the Hanna City Sportsman Club. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and socializing with friends around town. He was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and even had the “Go Cubs Go” song as his ringtone.
In high school he was voted most likely to become a pastor. He never officially earned that title but he was known locally as “Reverend Ronnie” and was frequently caught sharing the gospel to everyone around him. His favorite song lyric was “Carry on my wayward son, there’ll be peace when you are done.”
A Celebration life will be held Saturday, March 20th at the Hannah City Sportsman’s Club located at 103 South Main St, Hannah City, IL 61536. A brief service will start at 4:30pm with a meal and time of sharing after.
