Obituary for Randy Routt
Randy Dean Routt, 54, of Springfield Rd, East Peoria made a peaceful journey home on Friday, March 14, 2014 surrounded by many family members. He was a gentle spirit and a loving husband and father. He was born September 30, 1959, in Peoria to Albert Kenneth and Virginia Pearl Bohm Routt. He married Lindy Chambers on March 14, 1981 and again on October 1, 1999, she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diane Routt Pierson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lindy Chambers Routt; son, Mathew Steven Allen Routt of East Peoria; sister, Linda (Bob) Watts of East Peoria; brothers, Steven (Juanita) Routt of Peoria, Roger (Wanda) Routt of East Peoria; many loving nieces and nephews and his mother in law, Beverly Engle Chambers of Bartonville. Randy last worked at Archer Daniel Midland in Peoria, leaving in 2001. He loved the great outdoors, camping trips, enjoyed wildlife, in his younger years, fishing with his brothers and cousin, Gary and spending holidays with family. He was very fond of the music of the Eagles and Peoria native, Dan Fogelberg. A great fan of westerns, especially Jeremiah Johnson, Last of the Dogmen and Dances with Wolves. He is undoubtedly admiring the frontier from up high, taking in a Packers game and watching Jimmy Johnson #48 win yet another NASCAR Championship. Randy will be deeply missed by his immediate family as well as his extensive family of in-laws. Cremation has been accorded and inurnment will follow at a later date. Services will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church 1010 S. Louisa St. in Peoria on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour before the service. Fr. Terry Cassidy will officiate. Fellowship will follow at the Parish Hall immediately following services. A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at Fondulac Park in East Peoria with family and friends at a later date. Memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria in his name.
