Obituary for Ralph Lawson
Ralph William Lawson, 74, of Pekin, IL, passed away into the arms of the Lord, Tuesday, May 12, 2020.
Ralph was born December 10, 1945 in Peoria, IL to Carmie Jane and Zollie Lawson.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary “Tootie” Tucker and Dorothy Peacock, two brothers-in-law, Robert Tucker and Bill Peacock, and two nieces, Yvonne Tucker and Gayle Peacock.
Ralph most recently worked as a delivery driver for Aramark. Prior to that, he was employed by Caterpillar, Standard Brands, International Harvester, and Keystone.
His hobbies included classic cars and oldies music. He loved and cared for all animals, especially dogs. They were always a part of his family. He liked to attend Riverside Community Church in Peoria, IL. Ralph will be remembered as a patient, loving, God-fearing, hard-working, family man.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 55 years Renee Bitner Lawson of Pekin, IL; two daughters, Stacy (Steven) Martin of Pekin, IL and Mindy (Mike) Berardi of Pekin, IL; three grandchildren, Heidi (Christopher) Bagwell, Brody Freiheit and Noah Freiheit; two step-grandchildren, Adam Martin and Alec (Kelsey) Berardi; one great-granddaughter, Ava Bagwell; three step-great-granddaughters, Josie, Chloe, and Octavia Berardi; two great-grandsons and one step-great-granddaughter on the way; sisters-in-law Sue Brakebill and Terry Lynn Bitner, brother-in-law Chuck Bitner and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff at Aramark and UnityPoint Health Methodist Hospital for providing excellent care in his final moments.
