Obituary for Patrick Paul
Patrick Cary Paul, age 62 of Pekin, IL went home to be with his Lord after a long battle with chronic kidney disease, on February 17, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving children. Born February 25, 1955 in Alton, IL to Edward G. (dec. Apr. 14, 2015) and Barbara R. (Parker) Paul.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children Michelle Paul of Pekin, IL, and Joshua (Tiffany) Paul, of South Bend, IN; the mother of his children, Kathy (Chris) Knapp; his mother Barbara Paul of Wilmington, IL; sister Barbara (David) Hughes of Channahon, IL; brothers Michael (Debbie Janiszewski) of Morris, IL, and Edward, Jr. (Sue) Paul of Channahon, IL; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins; and many very special friends.
Preceded by his father and grandparents.
Pat was raised in Joliet, IL, graduating from Joliet East High School Class of 1973, and attended Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music. He worked many years for UPS in Peoria, IL.
Pat was the most devoted father and rarely went anywhere that he did not include his children. Together, they attended many Pekin Dragons football games, concerts, and enjoyed watching movies. Pat made a yearly trip to spend a week with Michelle, Josh and Tiffany at the Minnesota cabin on the lake, fishing and relaxing.
As a special gift to his son, Pat was officiant at Joshua and Tiffany’s wedding. He was deeply grateful for the loving care given by Michelle, Josh and Tiffany while in hospice.
He greatly loved discussions of religion and life, was the life of every gathering with his jokes, and his laughter will always ring loudly in our memories.
A Celebration of Life, per Pat’s wishes, will be held March 25, 2018 at 5 pm at the Lindenhof Hall, 7601 N. Harker Drive in Peoria, IL.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Island City Baptist Church, 120 Vine St., Wilmington, IL at 4 pm. Cremation rites were accorded.
Memorials in his name may be made to Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund.
