Lonnie L. Bohannan, 74, of Dunlap, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria, IL.
He was born October 26, 1947, in Peoria, IL to Margorie (Preston) Keller and John (Ruby) Bohannan.
He married Cindy L. Wooden on February 9, 1980; she preceded him in death on May 22, 2015. His parents; step-parents, and sister, Vickie Bush also preceded him in death.
As a blended family, they raised five children, having one child together. He is survived by his children, Amber (Ted) McLaughlin, Jeffrey L. Thornton, Terry Bohannan, Keith Bohannan, Nichole (Manny) Alvarez; grandchildren, Chase (Erika) Keith, Alexis (Katie) Keith, Charlie McLaughlin, Sophie McLaughlin, Bianca Alvarez, Emmett Alvarez, Jescie Bohannan, Josie Bohannan; great-grandchildren, Harper Keith, Sadie Keith; niece, Jamie Bush and nephew, Scott Draper.
Lonnie worked for 35 plus years as a Road Maintenance Engineer for the State of Illinois following his Military Army years serving in the Vietnam War.
After retirement in 1997, he enjoyed woodworking, going to craft shows and gardening. What he loved the most besides his family was the fur babies he had over the years.
Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date.
