Obituary for Kenneth Stewart
Kenneth Wayne Stewart, 74, of Bartonville, IL passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL with his family at his bedside. He was born October 6, 1938 in Arkansas, son of Lee and Clara Rice Stewart. He was united in marriage to Chris Carol Clayton March 15, 1963 in Paragould, AR. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chris Clayton Stewart on June 8, 2013; a daughter, Christine Stewart; his parents; three brothers, Raymond, Clarence and Lloyd Stewart; two sisters, Louise Stewart and Anita Stewart Whitlow. He is survived by his son, Keith Stewart of Bartonville, IL; sister, Letha Stewart Starnes (Bill) of Black Rock, AR; brother, Charles Stewart (Maxine) of East Peoria, IL; several nieces and nephews in Illinois and Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army and worked for Keystone for a short time and later retired as a sheet metal worker from Miester Brothers Corp. in Peoria, IL. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Cubs fan. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Dayspring United Methodist Church 201 Norwood Place, East Peoria, IL 61611. Pastor Gary Billiot will officiate. Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock, Arkansas at 2 p.m. Brother Allan Stinnett will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in his name. The family would like to thank OSF St. Francis Medical Center, OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home and all the Doctors and caregivers for their professional care and love during his stay there and to his neighbors, friends and family for their support.
