Obituary for Kenneth D. Gulley
Kenneth D. Gulley 62, of Deer Creek passed away on Tuesday May 27, 2008 at his home. He was born in Christopher, IL on February 5, 1946, the son of John and Mary Eckles Wood. He is survived by his children; Shannon (Shane) Smith of Topeka, Sean (Lori) Gulley of Lacon, Rhonda (Bob) Thomas of Kewanee, David (Lia) Ragar of Moberly, MO, brothers; Mark Wood of Pueblo, CO, Bill (Vickie) Woods of East Peoria, Kenney (Janet) Wood of West Frankfort, Johnny (Billie) Wood of Royalton, William (Patty) Wood of Washington State, and his 14 grand and 1 great grandchild. His parents and stepson Brian Ragar preceded him in death. Kenneth served in the Army Airborne and worked as an Inspector at Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed canoeing and kayaking and was a member of the American Legion Post 1276 in Deer Creek. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday June 1, at Abts Mortuary 905 S. 5th St. Pekin from 1 to 4 p.m. with a fellowship to follow at the American Legion post 1276 in Deer Creek immediately following the visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Legion post 1276 in Kenneth’s name. The Cremation Society through Abts Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
