Obituary for Katherine "Katie" L. King
Katherine “Katie” L. King, 25, of West Peoria passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in Peoria.

She was born January 24, 1996 in Peoria to William E. and Diane Rinne King Sr., her parents and grandparents preceded her in death.

She is survived by her brother, William King Jr., half-brother, Matthew (Carrie) King; half-sister, Jennifer (Daryl) Selock; nephews, Emery King, Elliot King, Owen Selock, Nolan Selock; uncle, Ed (Debra) Rinne and cousin, Christopher Rinne.

Katie was a bright light that shone in the lives of her beloved students, family, and friends. Her ambition and energy for life and her faith in the Lord was truly admirable. Those who knew Katie were fortunate to experience her endless positive attitude and sweet personality. Her passion for teaching was evident in her love and caring for her students. She truly enjoyed teaching as a career because she wanted to make a difference in the lives she touched. Above all we give thanks for the life of a woman we are so proud to be able to call family, the unique, and extraordinary and irreplaceable Katie whose beauty, both internal and external, will never be extinguished from our hearts.

Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior at Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton.

The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at csmico.com
