Obituary for Joseph Michael Binder
Joseph Michael Binder, 54, of Edwards, IL passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at his residence.
He was born May 23, 1967 in Peoria, IL to Diane Harrison and adopted into the loving family of Joseph and Barbara Lyons Binder. His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Jarred Binder of Bloomington, IL; daughter, Jocelyn Binder of Oswego, IL; former wife and friend, Heather Binder of Oswego, IL; Diane and Rachel Harrison of Arizona, Heather Harrison of Georgia and uncles, Andreas Binder of Hungary and Janos Binder of Hungary.
Joe “Szepi” proudly served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division including combat duty in Panama and Operation Desert Storm. He worked for Caterpillar as a Supply Chain Manager.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all who helped Joseph during his illness including his cousin, Eric Dennis, and special friends, Jeff Kline and Michael Gray.
Joseph will be interred at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Kickapoo, IL in a private ceremony with a celebration of life luncheon from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Lindenhof in Peoria, IL.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Brimfield, IL Fire Protection District in his honor.
