Obituary for Jon Starnes
Jon David Starnes, 56, of Canton, IL passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born October 25, 1962 in Herrin, IL to Noble and Geneva McNeal Starnes. His mother and grandparents, Lowell Starnes, Ruth (Jim) Hill Bangs, Mary (Lovey) McNeal Kamber and Albert (Bonnie) McNeal preceded him in death. He is survived by his father, sister, Sherri (Randy) Delost; children, Jonathan Starnes, Chelsie Starnes, Brandee Starnes, Lexi Lynn; niece, Danel Delost; nephews, David Delost, Darron Delost; girlfriend, Donna Fickas; aunts; uncles; cousins and treasured friends. Growing up Jay enjoyed horse shows and rodeos. Later he made truck driving his career until he injured his back. He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Canton American Legion. There will also be a celebration of life with our Southern Illinois friends and family on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Coello Illinois City Building. Jay’s cremains will be buried on Monday, January 28, 2019 in the Denning Cemetery located in West Frankfort, IL.
