Obituary for John Hastings
John W. Hastings, 83, of Peoria Heights passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at Generations Nursing Home in Peoria. He was born April 29, 1936 in Mason City, NE to Donald T. and Dorthea Cole Hastings. He married Jean E. Jensen June 14, 1962 in Broken Bow, NE; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Suzanne Trevino, William Hastings, Donna Harris, Tamara Burns, Donald Hastings, Charles Hastings; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. His parents and sister, Nancy Belle Howard preceded him in death. John served in the U.S. Navy and worked at Caterpillar until retiring in 1996. He enjoyed C.B.’s Club and loved Karate but most of all he loved his family. Cremation has been accorded and a private family service will be held. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
