Obituary for Janis Benson
Janis L. Benson, 61, of Peoria passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
She was born February 8, 1959 in Pekin to Melvin and Lucille Strubhar Benson. Her mother preceded her in death.
She is survived by her father; her daughter, Nicole Walczak; granddaughter, Lola Benson; brothers, Jeffrey Benson, James Benson and niece, Tomica Benson.
Janis worked as a nursing consultant for the State of Illinois retiring in 2020. She was a nurse her entire working career.
She was a wonderful mother who loved her daughter. She also loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved crafts especially scrap booking, photography, taking videos and filming. Janis was a very generous woman and she supported many local organizations.
Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date.
