Obituary for Janet Eckardt
Janet K. Eckardt, 83, of Peoria passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Heartland of Peoria. She was born September 21, 1931 in Cincinnati, OH to William and Marie Baker Smith. She married Lyle Eckardt Sr. November 26, 1949 at St. Patrick Church. He preceded her in death August 19, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister. She is survived by her children, Stephan Michael Eckardt of Mountain Home, AR, Lyle Eckardt Jr. of Washington, IL, Donald Eckardt of Washington, IL, Dorothy Armstrong of Colfax, IL, Richard Eckardt of Washington, IL; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and her sister, Dorothy Bland of Peoria, IL. Janet worked at Washington Christian Village for 13 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Washington, IL. She enjoyed reading the Bible, being outdoors and visiting with her sister. Cremation has been accorded and private family services will be held.
