Obituary for Janet Ann Henricks

Janet Ann Henricks passed on Sunday October 27th 2019. She was born Janet Ann Singley on June 11, 1941 to Ruth and Delbert Singley of Mason City, Illinois. Janet spent her growing
years living with her parents and six siblings, attending and graduating from school in Mason
City.

After graduating from high school, Janet moved to Springfield, Illinois to work in quality control
for Illinois Bell. When Janet was 21, she met her future husband James Edwin Downing whom
she married at age 22. From that 10 year union, Janet and Jim were blessed with three
daughters, Tamrin, Dawn and Merri Christine.

When Janet was 34, she married her husband Terry Alan Henricks on August 9, 1975 in their
home on Coolidge Ave in Pekin Illinois. With that marriage, Janet was blessed with another
daughter, Cheryl, from Terry's first marriage. After 5 years as husband and wife, Janet and
Terry made the decision to grow their family and their son Brandon Alan joined them on August 28,1980.

After their youngest was in school, Janet made the decision to get her real estate license. She
enjoyed working as a realtor first for Coldwell Banker for 6 years before transitioning to TopHat
Realty for another 2. For Janet, there was never any priority higher than her family. She was a
homemaker and caregiver and gave of herself freely. Janet and Terry spent 44 happily married
years with their children, grandchildren, a great granddaughter, their granddogs and many
wonderful friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Delbert Clarence Singley and Ruth Evelyn (Rabbe) Singley as well as her grandson Justin Douglas Smith.

Janet was devoted to her family and fiercely protective of those whom she loved. She has
requested that donations in lieu of flowers be made to TAPS of Pekin in memory of her
granddogs Sam, Arpoc and Kyra, all of whom brought much love and joy to their family.

Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pekin Moose Lodge.
