Obituary for James Sylvester
James D. Sylvester, 76, of East Peoria passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at his residence. He was born June 1, 1942 in Peoria to Raymond L. and Ethel Mary Hauer Sylvester. He married G. Jean Harms on February 18, 1967 in Peoria; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Daniel (Angela) Sylvester, Lani (Jason) Mondek, Eric (Tonya) Sylvester, Jason (Robin Struben) Sylvester, Jeromie Luke Sylvester; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Sylvester and a sister-in-law, Sherian Sylvester. His parents; brother, David Sylvester and a sister-in-law, Suzanne Sylvester preceded him in death. James served in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked in printing as a Binder. He loved his family, woodworking, traveling and cars. He was a jack of all trades and loved by all. James was a member of First English Lutheran Church 725 E. Forrest Hill Ave, Peoria, IL 61603 where a celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his church or St. Jude in his name.
