Obituary for James Jones
James A. Jones, 74, of Peoria passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at his residence. He was born June 12, 1945 in Eldorado, IL.
He married Burneta M. Selburg May 15, 1970 in Peoria; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Jamie (Andy) Jones, James M. Jones; stepchildren, Michael (Karen) Cleeton, Beth (Phil) Bowers and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Alan Jones and stepdaughter, Vicki Goins.
James was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with lawnmowers and loved to tell jokes and was very witty. He loved his dogs and his family very much.
James was a patient at Illinois Cancer Care. The family would like to thank Harbor Light Hospice for their care.
Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
