Obituary for James Francis Mulcahy
James Francis Mulcahy, 94, of Green Valley passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020 at his home.
Born in Chicago on February 6, 1926, to William and Anna (Lundien) Mulcahy, he married Irene Dorothy Bernard in Chicago on January 29, 1949.
Surviving are his children, Judy Mueller of Green Valley, Paul Mulcahy of Lake in the Hills, Patrick (Amber) Mulcahy of Kings Mountain, N.C., Peter (Deborah) Mulcahy of Port Clinton, OH and Jayne (Dan) Lourash of Peoria, his 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, his parents, his sister and one great granddaughter.
Jim was a World War II Navy Veteran serving on the USS Appalachian and a life-long Chicago Cubs fan.
Retired in 1994, he enjoyed family, winters in Panama City Beach, FL, an annual Mexico trip with his children and passing time playing games and solving various types of word puzzles.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 200 Eagle Dr., Green Valley, IL 61534. A private family burial will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Illinois, 614 W. Glen Ave., Peoria, IL 61614.
