Obituary for Jackie Smith
Jackie L. Smith, 67, of Washburn passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria. She was born July 18, 1950 in Peoria to Charles and Jean Carlson Cory. She married Jim H. Smith Sr. February 14, 2009 in Washburn; he survives. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Lisa (Marvin) Potter, Jim H. Smith Jr., Mike (Keri) Wall, Cindy Milligan; mother, Jean Cory; sister, Billie (Richard) Lindstrom and several, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Cory; first husband, Robert Wall; sister, Carolyn Endress and brother, Chuck Cory. In 1968 Jackie was crowned Miss Marshall County and then competed in the Miss Illinois Pageant where she was a runner up; she was a real beauty queen. She spent many years in Chetek, WI with her husband where she enjoyed fishing and cruising the lake. Jackie was a fisherman to end all fisherman. They spent six months at their home in Cameron, WI where they made many great friends. Cremation has been accorded and private graveside services will be held. Memorial may be made to the ARK in Lacon in her name.
