Obituary for Herschel Batterton
Herschel Leroy Batterton, 99, of Farmington formerly of Pekin passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Farmington Country Manor. He was born March 19, 1920 in Astoria to Roy Leroy and Myrtle Mae Brainard Batterton. He married Clara Elizabeth Weithe January 10, 1941 in Mineral Wells, TX; she preceded him in death August 29, 2004. His parents; son Jay Batterton; daughter, Kim Deppert and grandson, Richard Batterton preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, David (Connie) Batterton of Mapleton, Roger Batterton of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Connie (Tom) Coley of Pekin, Kerry (Jan) Suprunowski of Pekin; sixteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Herschel served in the U.S. Army during WWII and worked for Caterpillar; retiring in 1982. Per his wish’s cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital in his name.
