Obituary for Ernst Paul Zentgraf
Ernst Paul Zentgraf 80, of Peoria passed away on Monday April 28, 2008 at OSF St Francis Hospital in Peoria. Born Nov. 21, 1927 in Silverton, OH to Paul and Wilma Zentgraf. He married Mary Archea on June 24, 1950, she survives. He also leaves two sons, David P. (Carol) Zentgraf of Peoria, Daniel (Caren) Zentgraf of Springfield, one brother Paul Zentgraf, two sisters, Shirley Bowman of Ft. Thomas, KY, Wilma Jeannie Olsen of Heath, OH and five grandchildren. Ernst attended Walnut Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati and graduated from Chase College in Cincinnati, was a member of Lambda Chi Fraternity, served in the Navy during WWII and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the United Presbyterian Church of Peoria, where he served as Financial Secretary, active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts and Richwoods Baseball program. Ernst worked at Caterpillar and was the owner operator of Gridley Cheese Co. A Memorial service will be held on Friday May 2, at 1:30 p.m. at Hillside Village. Private inurnment will take place at the United Presbyterian Church Memory Garden. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his church or Hillside Village. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
