Obituary for Doris Hays
Doris E. Hays, 76, of Topeka passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at her residence. She was born April 21, 1938 in Peoria, IL to Frank and Sarah Davis Emrick. She married Arthur L. Hays in Peoria September 28, 1973. He survives along with her daughter, Debra (Charles) Brown of Decatur, IL; son, Scott Hays of Bloomington, IL; grandson, Justin (Carey) Fisher of Peoria; brother, Frank Emrick of Appleton, WI; sister, Phyllis Nash of Indianapolis, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Steve and Howard; sister, Mary and first husband, Roy farmer in 1972. Doris was a gospel country songwriter. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Forest City Community Church in Forest City, IL. The family would like to thank Mimi Foley, Nursing Staff 6th Floor and CCU at Pekin Hospital and Hospice special caregivers, Jody, Jenny, Rhonda and Sandy.
