Obituary for Donald "Sully" Dean Sullivan
Donald “Sully” Dean Sullivan, 74, of Morton passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born January 8, 1948, in Peoria to William Dean and Joy Jean Huff Sullivan. His parents; son, Adam Sullivan and grandson, Tyler Knowles preceded him in death.
He married Angela J. Hawks; she survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Heather (Adam) Etaugh of Peoria, Heidi (Miranda Vaughn) Leihenseder of Peoria; step blessed son, Timothy Paul of Everett, WA; grandchildren, Hannah Leihenseder of Dunlap, Chase Paul of Marquette Heights, Patrick Ferguson of Peoria and sisters, Noreen (Stephen) Friedman and Carla (Bruce) Hines.
Donald graduated from Richwoods High School. He was an SP5 serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1970. He worked for Prairie Materials retiring in 2013.
He was an avid racing fan. He raced the 00 in 1996 and received the Rookie Award. He also loved everything about the Cubs and was able to watch them win the World Series. He loved fishing and playing baseball.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. with a visitation starting at 10 a.m. at RockChurch 1081 Upper Spring Bay Road, East Peoria, IL 61611. Private burial will be held at Lutheran Cemetery.
