Obituary for Diane Garmon
Diane Garmon, age 84, of Pekin, IL passed away at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria, IL on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 7:28 p.m.
She was born in Pekin on September 26,1937, to Robert and Leta Mason Culshaw.
Surviving is her daughter, Kathryn (Michael) Copelen; her adopted great grandson, Kaden Copelen; three grandchildren, Michael (Mona) Copelen, Chase (Nicole) Copelen and Stephanie (significant other, Guillermo Leon) Copelen and a step granddaughter, Stacey Copelen-Potts. She had sixteen great grandchildren.
Her parents, one son, Steven Garmon and her sister, Mary Margaret Culshaw-Baxter preceded her in death.
She graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN in 1959 with her teaching degree. She taught Kindergarten and Pre-First in District 108 for 37 years. She served on the Alter Guild at her church for many years. She enjoyed reading and doing needle point.
Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at 11:30 a.m. at St Paul's Episcopal Church on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, with visitation 1/2 hour before the service.
Donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or her church in her name.
