Obituary for Dencil Moore
Dencil Moore 60, of Manito passed away on Friday March 13, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Porter KY on March 28, 1948 to James and Emma Thornesberry Moore. He married Carolyn Lyons in Clintwood, VA on August 23, 1968, she survives along with his children; Bo Moore, Kris (Russ) Mounts, granddaughters; Darien Paige Strawbridge, Taylar Storm Moore, brothers; Virgil and Vernal Moore, James Lyons, sisters; Jan (Larry), Allee Pack, Norma Jean and Analene. He also leaves behind his best friend Chewy, his 15 year old pup. His parents and brother Bertchel Moore preceded him in death. Dencil served in the Army during the Vietnam War and worked as a Machinist at Caterpillar, retiring in June of 2000. He was a member of the UAW (retired), Spring lake Sportsman Club, Chautaqua Sportsman Club, VFW in Havana and the VVI of Illinois in Sunnyland. One of his favorite things was his Sunday night Texas Hold’em game. He loved reading, napping, going to the Tap and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters and his pup. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his humor and his wit. He had a nickname for all of those he loved, You know who you are. Cremation will be accorded and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude in Dencil’s name. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
