Obituary for David Lugari
David A. Lugari, 64, of Peoria fell asleep in the Lord at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. David was born July 12, 1949, in Hillsboro, IL, the son of Leo and Maxine Lugari. He married Jean E. Anderson on April 8, 1972, in Melrose Park, IL, she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Carrie (Eric) Jewett of Colorado Springs and Melissa Lugari of Peoria; four grandchildren, Wyatt, Sophia, Emmy, Maximus; his mother of Decatur; brother, Ron (Dianna) Lugari of Decatur and his nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death. David was a member of the Encounter Church in East Peoria. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, two daughters and his grandchildren. He was an avid cyclist and Cardinal fan and never hesitated to share his faith with those he came in contact with. David was a strong man who fought a five year struggle with ALS but encouraged others with his faith through it all. He served in the U.S. Army. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 31, at the Encounter Church in East Peoria, Pastor Steve Clason officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his church or the ALS Association.
