Obituary for C. Russell Sikes
C. Russell Sikes, 82, of Creve Coeur passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born April 26, 1936 in Levelland, TX to George Washington and Essie F. Stroman Sikes. He married Shirley Bashusen; she survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Debbie (Carl) Nystrom, Kathy (Mark) Beasley, Robin (Jay) Survis, Sherri Graber; step-daughters, Juanita (Jim) Nelson, Melissa Clark Tidwell; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Frank (Nanci) Sikes and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents; two sisters; three brothers and two grandchildren preceded him in death. Russell served in the U.S. Army and worked as an auto mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion in Bartonville and a country musician. He was an avid golfer and a Marshall at the Madison Golf Course. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria or TAPS in his name.
