Bonita “Bonnie” Jane Cooley, formerly of Eureka, IL passed away at 3:20 pm on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Kewanee Care Home in Kewanee, IL.
Bonnie, as she was known to her family and friends, was born June 8, 1931, in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Mearl and Imogene (Lancaster) Cooley.
She graduated from Monmouth High School in 1949.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Mearl Jr.
Surviving is her sister, Rosemary Cooley Taylor, of Kewanee. She leaves 9 nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews, 31 great-great nieces and nephews and 21 great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Bonnie retired as a clerk from the United States Postal Service, in Peoria, in 1992 with 25 years of service. She was a member of the Peoria American Postal Workers Retiree Chapter. She enjoyed fishing, camping and cooking out and also loved horses and traveling with her friends.
Bonnie had a great sense of humor. You never saw her that she didn’t have a joke to tell. She will be missed.
Cremation was accorded, private family services will be at a later date.
