Obituary for Bobby A. Ray
Bobby A. Ray, 55, of Pekin passed away on Wednesday July 8, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. He was born on April 5, 1954 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to the Rev. Robert and Bonita Bell Ray. He is survived by his sons; Sheridan and Robert Ray of Metamora, sister Tonya (Steve) Berry and niece Alexis Berry of Washington and his best friends, Bob and Marty Mercer of Pekin. His parents preceded him in death. Bobby was an accomplished drummer and Blues harmonicist. A funeral service will be held at Abts Mortuary on Sunday July 12, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Doug Roberts will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Memorials may be made to the Bobby Ray Memorial Fund at Busey Bank. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
