Obituary for Betty Sandy
Betty L. Sandy 82, of Creve Coeur passed away with her family by her side at 11:08 a.m. Thursday March 4, 2010 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was born on February 2, 1928 to Fred B. and Lillian Murphy Ellison in Hillsboro, IL. She married Ralph Sandy on September 2, 1950 in Red Oak, IA. He preceded her in death in September 1994, also preceded are her parents, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, sons: Raymond Peters, Ralph Sandy, daughter: Sandra Sandy and grandson Jason Johnson. Surviving are her daughters: Mrs. Debra (Danny) Johnson of Creve Coeur, IL, Darlene Stewart and Donita Humphreys both of Washington, IL, son: James Richard “Rick” Sandy of Largo, FL, daughter-in-law: Shirley Sandy of Leonard, MI, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, including Samantha Shelton who she helped raise, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Betty enjoyed her family, Wheel of Fortune, and the gambling boat. The family would like to thank Harbor Light Hospice and a special niece DeAnna Ellison who helped with Mom until her passing. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or Harbor Light Hospice. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
