Obituary for Darlene Boland
Darlene Joyce Boland, 90, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Liberty Village in Peoria. She was born August 22, 1929 in Moline, IL to Santiel and Bertha Isabelle “Izzy” Davis DeFoer. She married John M. Boland January 29, 1955 in Deer Creek; he survives. She was previously married to Dale Clark. Her parents; sons, John Boland Jr., Steven Clark; two sisters and one brother preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband; daughters, Paula (Gene Pratt) Mueller of Peoria, Joyce (Jack) Reck of Algonquin, Karen Puyear of Algonquin; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and sisters, Janet (Bill) Goodman of Cape Coral, FL and Karen (Jerry) Kassel of Moline, IL. Darlene enjoyed cooking, antiques, reading and working in her herb garden. Her greatest joy was her family. The family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Village and to Elysian Hospice for the loving care given to Darlene and her family. Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen or Alzheimer's Association in her name.
