Obituary for Philip Niemer
Philip John Niemer, 48, of Brimfield passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born June 9, 1970 in Platteville, WI to John and Barbara Palzkill Niemer. He married Tammy J. Hartnett October 8, 1994 in Potosi, WI; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Brittany Niemer, Abby Niemer; parents, John and Barbara Palzkill Niemer; mother-in-law, Monica Upmann; siblings, Lori (Mark) Lynn, Julie (Kevin) Whitney, Robert (Tiffany) Niemer and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. His grandparents and father-in-law, Vivian Hartnett preceded him in death. Philip served in the U.S. Army Reserve National Guard. He worked for OSF St. Francis Medical Center as the Director for the Office of Preparedness and Response. Philip had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved fishing, kayaking, golf, gardening and yardwork. He was an avid Packers fan. He truly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 9910 W. Knox Street, Edwards, IL 61528. Memorials may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George Provincialate, St. Francis Convent 1 Franciscan Way Alton, IL 62002 or the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, 8630 Illinois State Rt.91 Peoria, IL 61615 in his name.
