Obituary for Dolores E. Wolcott

Dolores E Wolcott, 92, of Sun City, AZ, formerly of Pekin, passed away at 10:12 a.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at her daughter’s residence in Pekin.


Dolores “Donna” was born on February 15, 1931 in Pana, IL to Gladys and Frank Donaldson. She was later adopted by Aloysius and Evelyn Durbin. She married Robert J Wolcott on June 2, 1956 in Pekin. He preceded her in death.


Survived by her daughter, Marcia (Kevin) Gregory; three grandchildren, Kevin Jr. (Teri) Gregory of Platte City, MO, Tim (Michelle) Gregory of Tremont, and Michelle Kellum; three great-grandsons, Chaz (Alyssa) Gregory of Nixa, MO, Brennan Gregory of Platte City, MO, and Giovanni Gregory of Tremont; one great-great-granddaughter, Arianna Gregory of Nixa, MO. She is also survived by three brothers, Danny (Diana) Durbin and Michael Durbin of Pekin, Randy (Judy) Durbin of Havana, and one sister, Marilyn Durbin of Pekin along with one sister-in-law, Carol (Peter) Lequerique of Alexandria, VA. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Durbin of Sun City, AZ, Tony Durbin of Pekin, and one sister, Trudy Shea of Pekin.


Dolores retired in 1986 after 30 years at Standard Brands/Nestle’s in Pekin, Chicago, and Oakland, CA.


She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed giving head and back rubs to her children and grandchildren, no matter their ages. She loved visiting California and Nevada, golf, line-dancing, sewing, listening to music, and playing cards with family and friends. Her favorite game was Hand & Foot, but she never missed an opportunity to compete with her grandkids in a game of Spoons, even in her later years.


A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded.
