Obituary for Dennis William Murray
Dennis William Murray, 77, of Peoria passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, at River Crossing of East Peoria.
He was born November 7, 1944, in Peoria to Lawrence and Bernadine Velpel Murray. His parents and two brothers-in-law preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Sean (Jennifer) Murray; daughter, Amy (fiancée, Chad Schearer) Barlow; grandchildren, Kylynn, Ryan and Keira Murray, Ace Barlow; sisters, Marilyn Dreessen, Maureen Thorne and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis served in the U.S. Army and was a Captain of the Peoria Fire Department, retiring in 2002 after 30 years of service.
He was very handy and was always willing to help family and friends. He enjoyed taking fishing trips and had a love for airplanes and flying.
A celebration of life/open house will be held on Saturday, August 13th from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Ivy Club in Peoria Heights.
