Obituary for Alfred Wayne Love
Alfred Wayne Love, 71, of East Peoria passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born November 25, 1949, in Litchfield to Clarence and Ruby Weller Love.
He married Catherine Jennie Parker February 12, 1982; she preceded him in death August 9, 2020. His parents also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Robert Love, Jason (Corie) Love, Arthur Thompson; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Lexi, Justin, Madison, Audrey, Conner, Jackson, A.J., Robbie; siblings, Ron (Ruth Anne) Love, Ed (Carol) Love, Alice (Mike) Wilson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friend, Nicole Lackner.
Alfred served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and in the Air National Guard. After serving in Vietnam he was a Certified Emergency Medical Technician, and a Licensed Electrician prior to his 30+ year career as head maintenance and inspector of Federal Buildings.
He was on the council of the Native American Group, Seven Circles Heritage Center and was a member of the VFW. Alfred was a craftsman and was very artistic. He made Indian drums and dream catchers. He enjoyed quilting, baking and decorating cakes. He enjoyed going to the cabin, photography, and woodworking. He was a lover of music and played guitar.
He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was loved and cared for by many. In his final moments he was surrounded by his loved ones.

Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Flowers may be sent to Camp Butler National Cemetery.
