Lawrence D. Butterfield, 78, of Glasford formerly of Pekin passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at home.
He was born February 15, 1942 in Pekin to Lawrence Elmer and Nellie Ruth Keefer Butterfield.
He married Alice Kay Scott April 3, 1964 in Pekin; she preceded him in death December 18, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his father, Laurence E. Butterfield; mother, Ruth Armstrong; stepfather, Bud Armstrong and two brothers, Jack Butterfield, and Calvin Butterfield.
He is survived by one son, Lawrence D. (Donna) Butterfield Jr.; two granddaughters, Shelbee (Dylan) Ketsdever, Kendall Butterfield; one great-granddaughter, Sloan Ketsdever; two brothers, Carl (Sharlene) Butterfield, Ronald (Cheryl) Armstrong; one sister, Darlene (Frank) Handegan. and the love of his life for the last 10 years, Sue Peters.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. He loved riding his Harley and target shooting with his brothers.
Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.
Memorials may be made to TAPS or any animal shelter of your choice in his name.
