Obituary for Dolores Ann McDonald
Dolores Ann McDonald 93, of Pekin passed away on Monday March 17, 2008 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Vermillion County, IN on April 7, 1914 to John and Dominica “Nona” Massa Delmastro. She married James “Ernie” McDonald in Mayport, FL on May 21, 1934, he preceded her in death on May 13, 1968. Dolores is survived by her sons Ernest (Jean) and Michael (Janet) McDonald both of Pekin, brother Albino (Edie) Delmastro of Pekin, 4 grand children; Marcia (Bill) Reilly, Tony McDonald, Dawn (Roy) Lee, Dina McDonald and 5 great grandchildren; Marissa Dobie, Keith Reilly, Justin and Chance Lee and Ashleigh McDonald. She worked as a sorter for the Post Office, retiring in 1965 and later owned Minnie Italian Restaurant. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She loved to play bingo, to garden and loved to cook. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday March 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Father Pat Fixsen will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Abts Mortuary. Memorials may be made in her name to the St. Joseph Council of Catholic Women or the African Inland Mission at Attn: Receipting- P.O. Box 178 Pearl River, New York 10965. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
