Obituary for Charles A. Dill
Charles A. Dill 86, of Morton passed away on Thursday February 19, 2009 at his home. He was born April 11, 1922 in Chicago to Charles A. and Florence J. Wang Dill. He was raised in Rushville, IL, graduating from Rushville High School in 1940. He was a WWII veteran serving with the AAF. From 1942 to 1945. Charles graduated from Bradley University in 1952. He joined Mace advertising Inc. Peoria, as Vice President and Art Director, retiring in 1985. He is survived by his wife Barbara, six children born to him and his first wife Ruth Knott Dill; Steve (Casey) Dill, Carol (Bob) Bro, Becky (Max) Custer, Betsy (Kevin) Karnes, Tim (Suzan) Dill and Dave (Christie) Dill. Also surviving are two step-children; Cherie (Chuck) McWherter and Mike (Sandy) Slavens, thirteen grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren, his sister Betty Stetson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sister-in-law Mary Dill, wife of his late brother Richard Dill and Robert Duncan, husband of his late sister Marijane. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday February 28, at The Cross Point Church in East Peoria and memorials may be made to the church or teen challenge in Peoria. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
