Obituary for William Bearden
William J. Bearden 96, of Pekin passed away on Sunday January 17, 2010 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. Born in Pekin on February 23, 1913 to Edward and Nancy Potter Bearden. He married Eva E. Hudson in Washington on November 27, 1943, she preceded him in death on January 25, 2004. Also preceding were 3 sisters and 1 brother. William is survived by his brother David D. Bearden of Washington and sisters Flossie Sellers of Kenosha, WI and Elsie Miller of Sorento, IL. He worked as a Construction Engineer at Commonwealth Edison, retiring in 1978. He also worked at Holly Sugar Co. in Brawley, CA and the Bear-den Inn in Pekin from 1944 to 1948. He was a life member of the Moose Lodge. A funeral service will be held at Abts Mortuary on Thursday January 21, at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Deacon Mark Wilder will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Abts Mortuary has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements
