Obituary for JoAnn White
Sally JoAnn White, 79, of Canton passed away Thursday October 25, 2012 at 6:30am at her home. She was born July 9, 1933, in Elmwood, Illinois to Reynolds Johnston and Lucy (Kauffman) Johnston (Jepson), both of whom preceded her in death. JoAnn married Myron “Jack” White on February 3, 1951. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Martha “Marty” White and Rhonda (Matt) Vogel of Canton. She is also survived by two grandsons, Nick Vogel of Peoria and Jake Vogel of Austin, Texas, and one sister, Marjorielee Grose of Peoria and one brother, Jerry Jepson of Rhinelander, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Louis and David Johnston, Elmer and Edward Jepson, one sister, Katherine Jepson, and infant twin sisters. JoAnn was a 60-year member of the First Baptist Church of Canton, serving on many boards, a founding member of Meals on Wheels, a PEO member, and a member of the Altruistic Club. A big part of her life was spending time with her grandsons, family, and friends. She had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be at the First Baptist Church of Canton on Saturday, November 10 from 1:00 to 3:00pm. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Canton or Meals on Wheels of Canton.
