Obituary for Robert Julien II
Robert “Bob” H. Julien, II, age 62 of Washington, Illinois passed away on September 18, 2013, 5:20 p.m. at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois. Bob was born on August 7, 1951 to Robert H. Julien and Jeanne F. (Barr) Julien in Peoria, Illinois. He was married to Vicky Bayler on March 23, 1971. Bob is survived by his daughter Rebecca L. Summer (Stephen) of Washington, Illinois, son Robert H. Julien, III of Washington, Illinois, sisters Leri Slonneger of Washington, Illinois, Theda Roe of Dahinda, Illinois, grandchildren Kristen Julien, Shelby Summer, Megan Julien, and Spencer Summer, niece Dawn Slonneger, and nephew Ty Slonneger (Gina). He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Loring, and his brother-in-laws Charlie Slonneger and Ronnie Roe. Bob was employed by Acme Typewriter, ICC, Washington Community High School, and Washington Grade and Middle Schools, and retired in 2009. Bob was an avid fisherman and a member of the Peoria Casting Club. He also enjoyed riding his Harley “Black Beauty”. Bob looked forward to his yearly trip to flat river with “the boys”. Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be private family services only. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home for all they did to care for Bob. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, 8630 N. Illinois Route 91, Peoria, Illinois 61615.
