Obituary for William Winkeler
William “Bill” Winkeler, 74, of Dunlap, passed away at 1:07 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

Celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, November 5 at Sacred Heart Church, 504 Fulton St., Peoria, IL. Visitation is from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. followed by Mass from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Free parking in the Pere Marquette parking deck. There will be a get together at the American Legion in Dunlap at 6:00 p.m.

Bill was born September 3, 1942 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Francis and Jean Winkeler. He was preceded in death by both parents and father-in-law, William Meyer.

Surviving are his wife, Victoria Winkeler, Dunlap; brother, Robert Winkeler (Doris) of St. Louis; mother-in-law, Patricia Meyer; sons, Kevin Winkeler (Roxanne), Christopher Winkeler (Peggy), Rob Winkeler (Angi), Jason Ward (Beth) and Jeff Ward (Jessica); grandchildren, William Winkeler, Lauren Jimerson (Josh), Peyton Winkeler, Erin Winkeler, Matthew Winkeler, Zach Winkeler, Kristina Winkeler, Max Winkeler, Brandon Ward, Gavin Ward, Brady Ward and Dayne Ward; companions, Amos and Annie.

Bill was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was a long-time season ticket holder of the St. Louis Cardinals and a St. Louis Blues fan. Proud graduate of Cleveland High School in St. Louis, MO.

Retired terminal manager and sales representative with ABF and Lakeville Motor. Past president of Pekin Traffic Club, Peoria Motor Carriers Association, Delta Nu Alpha-Chapter 108 and was a active member of Transportation Club of Peoria for 40 years, worked at Wendy’s Creative Collections & Coins. Volunteered at Sophie’s Angels Kitchen for the past eight years.
