Obituary for Wilma Mae Carpenter
Wilma Mae “Rusty” Carpenter joined her family in heaven on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Wilma was born on March 26, 1942 in Goodfield, Illinois to Richard Kimble and Wilma Kindred. She was proceeded in death by her parents; daughter Peggy Brushaber; son Cleo Carpenter; grandson David Stevens; and great granddaughter Annabelle Bohannon. She is survived by her children; John C. Carpenter Jr of Kansas City, MO; Thomas M.S. Carpenter of East Peoria, IL; Ruth Courtney of Creve Coeur, IL; Penny (Rick) Brown of East Peoria, IL; Mark (Lyn) Carpenter of Cuba, IL; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Wilma enjoyed spending time with her family playing cards and board games with all of us as well as fishing, jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, shuffleboard and traveling. Wilma enjoyed helping others while working with the Children’s home in Peoria, Hands Across Illinois in Canton, IL and caring for Don Lowe and his family for many years. She was a member of the Eagles Club of Peoria and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of East Peoria, Illinois. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Roland Manor Baptist Church located at 2433 Washington Road in Washington, Illinois followed by burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek, Illinois.
