Obituary for William R. Schepka Sr.
William R. Schepka Sr. 76, of Peoria heights passed away on Friday March 27, 2009 at Lutheran Hillside Village. Born in Peoria on January 25, 1932, to Frank and Martha Borgwardt Schepka. He married Norma Foote on May 27, 1953 in Peoria, she survives along with his children; William R. (Laura Rios) Schepka Jr. of Bradford, Brenda (Gary) Garman of Hanna City, Vicki (Dave) Scull of Dunlap, sisters; Lucille Strickler of Fountain Valley, CA and Betty Carson of Peoria. He also leaves behind his 10 grand and 9 great grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. William served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked in maintenance at the Peoria Journal Star for 18 years, retiring in 1995. Cremation has been accorded and burial of cremains will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
