Obituary for William Lindy Gauf
William L. (“Lindy”) Gauf 80, of Peoria, passed away February 24, 2008 at his home. He was born February 9, 1928, in Peoria Heights to Bernie and Della Gauf. He married Judith Brannon November 19, 1955, in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Michael of Indianapolis, IN, Deanne of Peoria Heights and three grandchildren, and one sister, Mary Ketay. His parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. He worked for over 42 years at Peoria’s Northern Regional Research Laboratory, retiring in 1982 as a general foreman. Bill was a Marine veteran of WWII and Korean War. At Bill’s request, cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of services, memorials may be made to the Peoria Heights Library or American Heart Association. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
