Obituary for William "Bill" Leonard Blake
William “Bill” Leonard Blake, 69, of North Pekin passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born November 30, 1953, in Peoria to Leonard Vincent and Opal Blake. His parents and siblings, Hettie Hutton, Laura Mae Dohm, James Dishman, Ronnie Dishman, Dallas Dishman and Nancy Potter preceded him in death.
He married Nancy J. Kirkpatrick; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Jami (Stephen) Couch, Jason (Karen) Blake, Dawn (Jeremy) Veal, Derek (Mandy) Wise, British (Austin Knapp) Wise-Blake; grandchildren, Jesse (Michelle Rogers) Blake, Jennifer Blake, Dominic Martin, Chevy Blake, Ali Blake, Gracie Blake, Kiya Veal, Stephen (Becca Hunt) Simmons, Derrik (Derrieka McNinch) Vance, Damien Vance; great-grandchildren, Sophia Simmons, Leia Simmons, Logan Simmons, Saphiya Blake, Justin Knapp; siblings, Lydia (Gary) Dishman, Lillie Franklin, Rosie Sullivan and many nieces and nephews.
William served in the U.S. Army and worked as a truck driver retiring in 2016. In 1997 Bill “Hammer” became a lifetime member as a Bail Enforcement Agent, along with partners Chuck Kaiser and Denny “Bam Bam” Loser who preceded him in death.
Bill loved hunting. He spent many hunting seasons with many members of his family and many friends. He enjoyed working outside in the yard. He loved animals, especially his dogs. He enjoyed time with his family and all children.
Cremation rights have been accorded and there will be no services at this time.
