Obituary for Wayne L. Simpson
Wayne L Simpson 75, passed away on Sunday September 13, 2009 at his home in Bartonville. Born in Peoria to Frank and Harriet Fisher Simpson Jr. on November 10, 1933. He is survived by his son Travis Simpson of Peoria, daughter Lori (Doug) Keim of Accokeek, MD, stepson David Harris of Peoria, stepdaughters, Diana Ferguson of Creve Coeur, Tammy Callear of Peoria, Debbie (John) Feiler of Largo, FL, stepbrother Richard (Nancy) Simpson, stepsisters; Linda (Butch) Koshewer and Susan Fleeman, stepmother Nita Simpson and his 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His parents and half-brothers Ray fisher and David Simpson preceded him in death. Wayne served in the U.S. Army during Korea and was a Railroad Yard Master working for Rock Island Railroad from 1959 to 1980 and Burlington Northern Railroad from 1980 until he retired in 1985. He was a member of the American Legion #979 in Bartonville. Cremation will be accorded and private services will be held. Memorials may be made in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Council. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements
